Memorial Day

We had many, many plans for Memorial Day and we, surprisingly, pretty much were able to do all of them.
We decided to first stop by Shawn's parent's house to pick her up and take her to visit Larry. He had part of his foot removed and was in a rehabilitation center for a few weeks. Barbara also just had 2 toes removed so she was slow-going too. When we got to the center, Larry was having lunch. The cafeteria had games and saddles to sit in. The whole place was decked-out in the Western theme.

Barbara wanted to visit her son, Craig's, grave so we took her over there.
Easton is named after Craig and shares the same birthday.

Cambree thought she was funny and wanted a picture.
We dropped off Barbara and went to my Grandparent's and cousin's graves. It was nice to do that.
After that, we wanted to go on a little hike. I heard Doughnut Falls was a good hike for kids so we tried that. I forgot our baby carrier and saw a bunch of people taking strollers on the trail so we did too. Turns out, you can only go so far with a stroller so I went back while Shawn hiked on with the other kids. Maybe I'll see it next time I go to my aunt's cabin.

Shawn said it was too crowded to hike all the way up to it so they saw the falls from here.
It turned out to be a wonderful day!

Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters Concert

Another dance concert! This concert was based off of the book Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters. It's an African theme so it was lots of fun with the music and dances.
I got to design the poster.
And take ALL the dance pictures.
She was a hippo and a basket.
Cambree was Village Children and a gazelle.
I absolutely LOVE watching my girls dance. Sadie knows the dances really well so it's fun watching her.
Sadie was in the back-right watching the elephants dance.

The first night we brought everyone (except Brinley…she was at a party).

The next day was another concert. And Brinley's soccer game.
They love getting ready and getting to dance again. Sadie got to do all 4 shows since they were in the same dance as elephants and needed more girls to dance.

My family came the 2nd night to watch. Mandy even brought little Kylie.
Then we went out to eat dinner at Noodles & Co. Yum!

Crazy Busy Day

Do you ever seem to have a day that EVERYTHING happens on the same day? Well May 21st was that day. I had Shawn take the day off since I needed help doing all the things we needed to do.

First up, was Sadie's preschool graduation. They sang some cute songs. They told what they wanted to be when they grow up. Sadie said she wanted to be a snow cone server. (Guess where she has been lately?) Mrs. Bradshaw was having them read everyone's name in the class. Sadie was reading them quickly before everyone else so her teacher told her to count to 2 and then say it. So you could see her mouthing "1, 2" and then saying the name. It was pretty funny. She LOVED preschool especially with her tons of friends in her class. Her teacher was amazing! They not only learned their letters, writing, and reading, but she taught them some sign language, some Spanish, baking, field trips, etc. They had a lot of fun. When she goes to Kindergarten, there will be 18 kids from our neighborhood going. That's a whole class almost!

Right after preschool, she went with her friends to go to her dance dress rehearsal in Provo. Thank goodness for friends in the same class to help drive kids around (& taking a pic).

After lunch, Cambree had an autobiography reading luau. Parents could come and she read to us what she wrote. She did a great job! They served small helpings of rice and kalua pork. Cambree lives for stuff like that.

Right after the luau, we checked Cambree out of school so I could take her to her dress rehearsal. I actually had to stay there until 10:00 at night so I could take action shot pictures of the older dancers. Cambree was able to go home with a neighbor and I got some dinner and Guru's (love that place) and settled in to watch dancers for a couple hours.

In the meantime, Shawn got to take all the kids to 2 softball games for Brinley. Now that I'm writing it down, it doesn't seem like much but it was a good/long day.
