Easton's 1st...and 2ND HAIRCUT!!

Easton had his first haircut at 4 1/2 months! I couldn't believe it. But he totally needed it. He has a crazy cowlick that causes his hair to do a major comb-over. It also was getting all matted in the back. I just figured it would lay better if he got a haircut. I was right! I went to my BFF and she cut just a little and just enough that I could comb it and it would stay!
Here we are! All done! I got mine done too...sorry for the blurry pics. We were using my friend's camera and Shawn took the pics. Not a good combo. ;)

Here we are 6 weeks later and he need ANOTHER haircut! I had no idea we'd be cutting his hair so much. I've never had to before! This time, he had rubbed all the hair off the sides and back so he was kinda bald and then had a fro on top. He looked like he had a bowl-cut that was popular in the 90's. :) So we chopped it off! It's really short now! But still so much better.

This was his hair BEFORE his 2nd hair cut. It also wasn't combed or anything...neither is Sadie's. :)
 AFTER:
Handsome boy. That's what I call him all the time...no wonder Cambree always just calls him "Boy"!

Valentines

Valentine's Day seems to be a beloved holiday around here. The girls are always so excited to write out all their Valentines cards for their class-weeks before. We've continued the tradition of hanging envelopes on our doors and filling them with nice notes/compliments to each other. I love this! They also had their pink and red clothes picked out a week ahead. Yes, they are girls! I did that too. :)
This isn't necessarily on Valentine's Day, but I couldn't leave him out!
My mom came to give the girls Valentines. So the girls made a big Valentine for her and taped chocolate to it. They are always so thoughtful and LOVE to make cards and notes for any occasion.
Grandma brought Sadie a chocolate bear! She was happy!
The girls made their Valentine's bags. Cambree's is so cute from Kindergarten. Brinley made the same one when she was in Mrs. Reiber's class. It's a keeper!
This was the first year for Brinley that we had to come up with a box/bag ourselves. I'm not very crafty and left it all up to Brinley to make. She wanted to make a mailbox. I don't think it turned out as good as she was hoping. She said the other kids' parents helped them, but she did hers all by herself and was proud of that.
Shawn and I got to go out to Olive Garden for V-day. It was yummy! Then, we probably did some kind of shopping or something to take advantage of having a sitter.

Potty Training. Ugh.

I absolutely HATE potty training. So this time around I talked Shawn into doing it. I've done 2 so he can do 2, right???  He actually thought it was a "we" thing until the night before. I told him I would have full duty of Easton and he would have full duty of Sadie. I guess I wasn't too clear on that. :( My friend gave me a book about it and we followed it to a T. It was potty-training in 3 days so we did it on Presidents Day weekend when Shawn would be home from work. We bought LOTS of underwear, drinks, candy, and one little toy for going poop. We were ready!
I was super frustrated right off cuz Sadie had a cold and wasn't feeling well. She also is a girl that is set in her ways and doesn't like change. She cried all morning when her schedule was interrupted. I was surprised she didn't even want to wear undies. But Shawn was VERY patient and kept encouraging her. I was all ready to give up but not him! He stayed positive. She only had about 3 accidents that first day! She REALLY got the hang of it that first day. Poop was a whole other animal and we are still working on it. :) Night times she was peeing the bed every other day so I was sick of changing sheet and just put a pull-up on. Now, she never pees in her pull-up so I think I can take that off now too...when I'm brave enough. :) A couple weeks ago, we stayed the weekend at my parent's house and she had accidents but not any since then. I think it was just hard for her being in a new place and out of her environment. I hope!
Anyway, I'm REALLY proud of her! I've never potty-trained this early...she is 2 1/2 exactly and it worked! And I'm SO happy to not have 2 in diapers now! That's HUGE!

Random. Random January

Nothing too big happened in January. But I wanted to blog these random pictures. I should've done some kind of collage since there are so many pics. Maybe I need to learn how to do that besides in Photoshop since that takes too long. :)
First up, Cambree tying Sadie to a chair. Her Kindergarten teacher told her a story that day about how she tied up her brother. Cambree had to try it out! Sadie was NOT happy and I had to go see what she was crying about. This is fairly typical at our house. Cambree is always trying these shenanigans on poor Sadie. She mostly goes along with it but not all the time.
Cute Easton being bombarded by stuffed animals. The girls wanted to hide him. :)
Easton loves his little play gym that he got for Christmas. He loves hitting that ball too...I think Shawn secretly hopes that means something in his future. (Easton is looking like a deer-in-headlights. He has that look a lot. Maybe we are to much for him!)
Cute kids!
Brinley was the star student sometime during January. Her poster was cute and easy! We just had to fill it out! Love that!
Well, we did get a babysitter for the 2 little ones and took Brinley and Cambree to a Utah Gymnastics meet...versus BYU of course! Shawn gets free tickets so we had to go to at least one match. The girls loved it but Shawn didn't want them cheering for BYU since we were sitting next to crabby Utah fans. It was hard for Cambree to resist! Of course, Utah won. They are VERY good at Gymnastics. It was fun though and I had to tease Shawn and get a picture of his daughter as a Ute Gymnast!
Perfect 10 poster
Sadie LOVES the Touch. She looks pretty comfy in the laundry basket too.
Brinley made a snowflake in school out of Borax.
I told Cambree to go entertain Easton while I was getting breakfast for Sadie. She got him out of his crib and I found her "reading" to him and he was as content as can be! So cute!
Just watchin' some TV....in her "zone" and very unkept. Just keepin' it real here!
Playing with my reflector and static and she's cute. :)
We'll end the randomness with Easton cuz he is so dang cute!
Yes I'm in a pink Bumbo and I'm owning it!
