Sadie~2 Years Old

My baby girl is growing up! She's the big T-W-O!
Some of the things she's been doing is:
-Climbing like crazy onto things. I haven't had that experience with my other girls. I guess that gets me ready for a boy!
-She loves animals. Anytime we see a dog, she has to pet it. Her favorite books are any books with animals in them.
-She loves to sing...or more like do the actions to songs. She gets WAY into it and LOVES it! She likes to sing "Tonight, Tonight" by Hot Chelle Rae, "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele, and "Baby" by Justin Bieber. The songs she likes us to sing and she does the actions are "Itsy Bitsy Spider", "Popcorn Popping", and "If You're Happy and You Know It".
-Her favorite movie is WALL-E. She calls it wee-wee and knows the songs in it. She loves to watch some of it right before bedtime.
-Her vocabulary is improving but we still want it to get better. Some words she repeats and she's close to it (like right now she's loving the word "apple") and some words are just her own language. I'm getting pretty good at knowing what she wants but good luck to everyone else!
-She has definitely been to the doctor a lot too! She's more prone to getting sick, has tubes in her ears, and broke her arm. Poor girl.
-She is very expressive...happy or sad. When she's happy, she has a great, big smile ready for you. But when she's sad, she you sure know it!
-She like to buckle things, but can't unbuckle them yet, so that's a real fun game. ;)
-She gives really great hugs and kisses anytime I ask for them...sometimes I don't even have to ask. What a sweetie. We sure do love her!

Here's her 2 Year Old Photo Shoot. She wasn't too excited about doing what I wanted her to do. She didn't want to sit, she didn't want candy, she didn't want to clap and sing (that was a first!)...ugh. She wasn't very good. But I think I did OK at getting some shots. They do show her little personality that's for sure!
My Favorite
Love the face. She was SO not into this!
Shawn had to hold her in place.
Her "OH", excited face.
A few dancing pictures...those were the best! Brinley and Cambree had her dancing and she actually stayed put for a few frames.
Shawn's favorite. Probably cuz that's her personality right there!
One last attempt at getting some smiles!

One Last Hoorah!

I don't know why I always get this way, but I feel like I have to fit all this stuff in before a baby comes. But I do! My life gets put on hold for a while so the few weeks before the baby comes I'm trying to get things done and do things.

-Shawn and I went on one last date about 2 weeks ago. We went out to our favorite Thai restaurant and then we went a movie. We saw Contagion. Pretty interesting and made you think about what life could really be like if there was virus outbreak. Then we got some smoothies and Roxberry. Yum! I just love going out with my man!
-I'm getting all my shopping done for the baby and for Cambree's birthday. We had her party this weekend since her birthday is right after I have the baby. That wouldn't work so well. So she's having it about 2 weeks early.
-We've had to rearrange the whole house it feels like. And that just happened 3 weekends ago. We moved Cambree down to share with Brinley. It's going ok so far...better than I had thought. Sadie is now in Cambree's room and then the baby is going to have Sadie's room. I hope that doesn't cause any jealous feelings. I wanted to do it sooner but it just didn't happen. The baby's room still looks girly even though it's green. My nephew asked why flowers were still on the wall. Sigh. I just don't have any motivation or stuff to decorate and it isn't too fun to shop at this point in my pregnancy.
-Last weekend I went up to my Aunt's cabin for a scrapbooking weekend. Shawn even took a day off work so I could go up longer. We do it every year and this year my sister from Arizona even came up for it all by herself with a nursing baby! She's quite the woman. We had great time even though my back and bum didn't appreciate all that sitting. Thank goodness for the hot tub!
-Just last week I FINALLY got done with all my photo editing (minus Sadie's). Whew! That took a lot longer than I had hoped. So check my photo blog a lot this week. It needs some love.

Man! Can I tell you how hard this pregnancy has been???  I don't know if it's cuz it's a boy or if it's cuz I'm 31, but it has been different and difficult. I'm usually the happiest and best pregnant person I know, but this time around has just plain sucked. It all started with my back going out right when I found out I was pregnant. It got better and I was doing good until about a month ago. I actually have had Braxton Hicks contractions this time around. I've NEVER had them before! Now I KINDA know what women are going through and what all this complaining is about. I've usually never felt ready to have the baby but this time around I am! I have to go to the bathroom ALL THE TIME!! I'm definitely carrying him lower so maybe that's part of it too.
The other part of it is mental. I'm SO NOT READY for a new baby. I cannot sleep at night sometimes. Not because I'm uncomfortable but because I keep thinking of all the things I need to do and then I picture what it will be like to have a new baby and I get all anxious and nervous with butterflies and sweating. I can't believe I will be holding my new baby in just a few days. It's so blows my mind. Everyone tells me it will all just fall into place and it will feel right. I sure hope so. I also hope Sadie doesn't have too hard of a time with him.
Whew! Sorry for all the complaining but I need to write this down since I've never had this happen to me before. I am excited that it's a boy and we can have him in our family. Things that I never thought would happen are falling into place. I do know it's right, but I'm still questioning the Lord's timing. I guess we'll just find out!
At least we know he will be a cutie! Here are more surprises on my camera. My girls love taking pictures of Sadie. :)
I love this! Sheer joy on her face and being found in the pantry...and don't judge the unorganization of it. :)
This one and the next one I took. I love how it shows the way she wore her sling. Didn't seem to help much.

Baby Shower(s)

Yes, I was spoiled and got 2 baby showers. I have the best ward and they wanted to throw me a shower and then my family and friends wanted to throw me one too. I'm spoiled and I think everyone is excited for me to FINALLY have a boy! I can't wait to see what he will be and look like.
My first shower was my ward shower about a month ago. My visiting teachers put it all together. They are awesome! Lily is Chinese and wanted it at her house. She decorated in red and gold since those are Chinese lucky colors. She had lots of Chinese refreshments. There was a kind of cookie fruit bar dessert made out of rice flour so it was kind of chewy. Little candies that were kind of like fig newtons and an interesting drink made out of coconut milk and green and white jello-like things. Kind of fun! They also supplied some American desserts for those of us that like things sweeter. Everyone was so generous and the things I still needed were given like blankets, bibs, burp cloths, binkies, (everything that starts with a b I guess). I was so bummed I didn't take ANY pictures! I brought my camera but totally forgot! I'm sure I'll never have a Chinese Baby Shower again. :(
I made this invitation using my belly picture from Sadie's pregnancy. I'm sure it looks pretty much the same anyway. :)
My family/friend shower just happened last week. I waited so long since I found out my sister was coming to town from AZ and I wanted her there. It was fun! We played games that my SIL, Lynnette, put together and Nicole went all out on the desserts and hosting it. It was a lot of fun! Thank you!!!
My mom made me this great crib blanket for the baby's room. My MIL, SIL and Nephew's wife got the bumper pads and crib sheets. Don't mind the risque bag...my SIL thought I wouldn't mind a shirtless man on a bag. ;)

This was a cute way to remember everyone that came.
LOVE the My First BYU book. It's so cute and a perfect gift for this family.

Owls Game

Well, we have free tickets to the Owls games but we only made it to the last one. It was fun though cuz we went with some friends and then another family in the ward was there too! The more the merrier! It was fun to just sit on the grass while the kids ran around. They have a playground that we definitely took advantage of. Brinley took all the pictures at the playground. She's really getting into photography. Maybe she'll be my little helper someday.
Love the static hair!
Cambree is always doing this stuff to her. Who knows why.

Oh, around the 5th inning it started getting super windy. Then the ran came down! We packed up and went for the shelter. Shawn ran to get the car. They suspended the game for awhile. And as soon as Shawn had the car, the rain let up. Oh well. It was late and a school night so we needed to head home anyway. I wish we would have gone to more games though. It was fun while it lasted!

We've Got a 2 Year Old in the House

Sadie is 2 (as of August 28th)!! And she's great at getting her way all. the. time. I have such a hard time saying no to her...especially cuz she has quite the scream. Shawn says we baby her way too much so we need to get her toughened up. That's one of his pet-peeves. Lovely. But it's hard to do that when she still doesn't talk really well or understand us really well. But she IS spoiled so we need to take care of that before child #4 makes an entrance. Otherwise, she's going to have a very rude awakening.

For her birthday I really didn't put much thought into it. I'm tired. And hot. But I decided on a ladybug theme a few days beforehand since she loves bugs and isn't scared of them and usually squishes them. :) Her birthday was on a Sunday. My friend told me that when they sang to her in Nursery and said her name she put her hands on her cheeks and gasped. How cute is that?
So after church, we just had some family over for dinner and cake...I forgot the ice cream! My brain is really going. Shawn did the cake. I gave him the idea and bought and baked the cake...he does the rest. He's awesome at it! Especially because he's a perfectionist. Sadie couldn't wait to dig into it!
I love a man in a feminine apron. :)
She got some fun toys and played with them for hours and they aren't annoying. Score! Last year I bought the most annoying lawn mower toy. It's WAY too loud!
Here she is playing with her cousin.
She had a lot of fun opening the presents. She caught on to what she was supposed to do this year.
Happy Birthday, Sadie. You are such a special girl and we are so happy you are in our family. We love you and can't wait to find out the new things you will do this year!

Back 2 School

This year is a big year for school. I have a 3rd grader AND a Kindergartner! Finally! Cambree is in school! Having an October birthday seems like SO LONG until she can go to school.
Brinley got to go to school a whole week before Cambree. We all walked her to school and were greeted by the Cougar.
Then a WHOLE week later, Cambree got to go. She was very picky about how she wanted her hair. Since her hair is finally long enough to have in a pony tail, that's the way she wants it almost everyday! About 15 minutes before school started, she stubbed her baby toe REALLY bad. I didn't think it was too bad, but she was VERY sad about it ruining her day. When she got home, it was badly bruised. I hope she didn't break it. Poor thing. But despite the toe, she had a great day and has LOVED school. She has the same teacher as Brinley but Cambree is certainly a different kid than Brinley so I hope she behaves well for her. I'm a little nervous.
I have to say that I'm LOVING her in afternoon Kindergarten. She entertains Sadie in the morning and we do errands and then after lunch she's off to school and Sadie has her nap. I've been able to get so much done and I'll be honest, I do get a nice little nap in too. It's wonderful!! Too bad it will only last a month.
Kinda sad about the toe.
I told her to act excited and raise her arms up. This is all I got because of the toe still. I know. Lovely tatoo she's got there.
Showing off her backpack but still in pain.
Now she's all better! She didn't want me to walk in to the classroom with her. She didn't even want me going this far, but I needed a picture. She's sure ready!

Happy 10 Year to Us!!

Wow. I still can't believe I've been married to the man of my dreams for 10 years! It's been THE best to be married to him. I still can't believe how lucky I am that he stuck with me after putting him through 2 break-ups. I think I'm stuck with him for eternity. ;) There seems to be some things that you really didn't know until you get married. No. 1-how great of a dad he is. Who would ever know that unless you had kids already? He is a WONDERFUL father to his girls and they just ADORE him. It's so fun to see the girls, and now Sadie, greet him when he comes home from work. I also didn't know he liked to cook so much (bonus!) and how much he LOVES BYU sports (not really a bonus). There wasn't even a TV in his apartment and then when we got married, he was glued to the thing! The rest I pretty much knew especially how patient he is. I think I caught onto that after waiting for me to come around. I also knew he wasn't a big spender and money problems in a marriage can cause problems! He lived off tuna sandwiches and tomatoes for lunch everyday and seriously needed new clothes when I met him. :)
We were in Zion's on our anniversary at the beginning of August, so we celebrated it later in the month. I REALLY wanted to go on a cruise this year BUT we got a surprise and were pregnant instead! So that changed plans a little but we were able to go to dinner and stay at a Bed and Breakfast in Salt Lake while my mom watched the kids. That is always nice to have a night without kids.
Anyway, here's a little trip down memory lane. How cute (and thin) were we back then??!!
He sang to me at a ward talent show. We barely knew each other. Pretty gutsy! And I thought, "there go my chances of going out with any other guys in the ward!"
Played baseball for BYU. Uh-huh! 'Nuf said. ;)
This one is just cute and I remember he used to fake-smile like that in photos...he doesn't really do that anymore.
Our engagement pictures...yeah, we are HOT!
Our honeymoon in Mendicino. We had a nice condo right on the beach.
I tell ya, if you can get through a cake fight like this at your wedding reception, your marriage will last. That's my philosophy. :) 10 years and going strong!
