Mandy & Nate's Wedding

So back at the end of July (I'm slowly catching up!) my sister got married! It was a wonderful, beautiful ceremony. The sealer reminded me of what really is important in my marriage and what I need to work on. Mandy and Nate are a great couple and perfect for each other. Mandy wanted me to take pictures that day. It was a little crazy but I was happy to do it. Luckily, my friend Tracie was there to get me through it and take pictures when I was visiting. :) You're the best!
After the Temple, we went to the White House in Bountiful for the yummy luncheon. It was set up so beautiful and the food was GREAT!
The "cool" table. My table. ;)
My dad giving a "toast".
The reception was at the Lion House. I admit, I was a little jealous since mine was at the church. But the photo ops were amazing! LOVED it! The day was perfect and laid-back. I'm so glad.
Here's my whole family. I was loving the bright colors! It looked great!
And I love this one of Mandy and Tiff...the maid of honor.
Shawn and Rob were feeling a little goofy. They wanted to show a little leg like I sometimes ask the girls. ;)
And they said they felt like they were doing a choir performance so they stuck a pose. I think Nate thinks they're a little crazy.
I do feel like I neglected cute pictures of my girls the entire night. It was too fun visiting with old friends and family. I did get one with them and the bride and groom.
And my cute little Sadie:
The bouquet toss was great. My cousin ended up with the bouquet which is very fitting since her missionary comes home in a month!
Congrats, you guys! Thanks for letting me take your pictures. It was a wonderful day. Have I said that enough yet? It really was.
I miss you already now that you're in Ohio. Love ya!

First Day of School

I guess my blog will be a little out-of-order since I still need to blog my trip. But its the first day of school! Today was a really great day! There wasn't AS MUCH fighting from my girls! I think both Brinley and Cambree were ready to be separated for a little bit. They were both getting on each other's nerves.
I walked Brinley to school which was followed by a much-needed walk/workout. I hope to get into some kind of routine now that school's back. I went to the store with only 2 KIDS (big improvement) and Cambree played with friends all day. Very nice.
Anyway, here are the cute back2school pics. She insisted on picking out what she wanted to wear. I just insisted on the red shoes. :) She's a cutie!
Here she is going in to school. This doesn't really even look like her.

Trafalga

We did a few things in July despite it being a REALLY crazy month!
A new fun center opened up near us and we decided to check it out. We got my BFF and her family to come with us. Good times.
We wanted to "prep" the girls for Disneyland and go on the little roller coaster, but it wasn't working at the time. Bummer. We really want them to go on all the rides at Disneyland. No babies!
Anyway, here they are at the bumper/floating boats. They had a good time getting each other wet.
Let's face it. These moments are so rare I'm glad I captured it. :)
Can't wait for Disneyland!!

Also, for a field trip we went to Liberty Park. The oil spill is all cleaned up. I'm so glad we got to go this summer. A few moms came along. All girls again!!! (with one little baby boy) But the little Canyon part was closed!! I think that happened last time I went there. Lame!
Here are the older bunch:
And another stroller picture of my bathing beauty. :)

Little Piggy-Tails

I can't believe I haven't even tried putting piggy-tails in Sadie's hair. With my other girls, I did it as soon as they barely had enough hair to fit in them!
She looks so cute and big now. Only a week until her 1 year old birthday!!

Outings with My Sister

Whew! Back from vacation in Cali. It was so fun, but really long! Now it's time to play catch-up. :)
My sister came with her family about the beginning of July. She went to the big reunion and just stayed until my sister's wedding. She went back and forth between my house and my parents' house, so we got to do some fun things.
First off, we took the kids to the Church Museum. My mom actually had my sister's kids so Angie and her husband could go on a little anniversary date...hiking Timp is not my idea of a fun date...but whatever. :)
So we went through the museum doing a little scavenger hunt they had there and then ended up in the children's part for a while.
And I've realized I take too many pictures! Even when I have my crappy camera! All the red-eyes are driving me crazy! But its still too hard to cut them down.
Here's all the kiddos!
They all dressed up (or we hurried and made them put something on for a picture)
Watching some General Conference.
Sadie always has to put something in her mouth.
Preachin' to the people!
Taking a walk around Temple Square with Grandma.
Another place we went was the Dinosaur Museum. Angie's boy absolutely LOVE dinosaurs so this was a must!
The water/sand table is always a hit.
Brinley "helping" Sadie build a dino.
Yes! I was there! Amazing!
Sadie wanted to dig for dinosaur bones. I can't believe I let her. She was eating dirt the whole time.
(Ang, we can't wait to see you again! We had so much fun! And I still have tons of pictures. Let me know how you want me to get them to you. I could ftp them again.)

My Beautiful Brinley

Better late than never! I finally got her 7 YO pictures edited. So now I can finally brag and tell about her as a 7 Year Old.
Brinley has always been VERY curious. If anyone knows her really well, they know she LOVES to ask questions. About anything. I find myself usually saying, "I don't know." Just this morning she was asking if I knew of any planets that blew up and made a star. Uh, not in my lifetime...but maybe? I really don't know. She asks how roads are made, what teeth are made of, why the sky is black at night, etc. Those are just the questions she's asked this week and the ones that I can actually remember! She is full of them, I tell ya! But that means she's always thinking and THAT is VERY good. :)
-She loves having her teeth pulled. So weird.
-She's loved reading "Where the Sidewalk Ends" by Shel Silverstein
-She loves to listen to music and sing. She tells us she's going to be on American Idol.
-She's been into dancing lately. More like break-dancing but with her own little twist.
-She loves movies and is always wanting to have a late-over.
-She likes to play games and has been playing some adult games with us. She's actually pretty good!
-And, of course, she's still into art and projects. She usually has a few projects going on at a time. I think she takes after her mother that way.
Brinley, I love that you are a part of our family. I'm excited for you to prepare to be baptized this year. You are becoming such a wonderful person. I love you!

24th of July

Here in Utah we celebrate the 24th of July-the day the Pioneers reached the SL valley. I love it because we celebrate this occasion and Shawn gets an extra day of work off. :) This year, we went out to Tooele. My mom was in charge of the parade and carnival there. The kids really wanted to do both. Little did I know, that I was needed to be in the parade. Ugh. My sisters kids were there too. So I was walking along with little 4YO Dylan...not even 1/2 way through the parade he was too tired to go on.
People offered to have him ride in their float. No.
Ride in their stroller? No.
Get on my back? No.
Carry you? Yes. I couldn't do that for very long. So then the conversation would start all over again. Finally, he opted to get on my back, but that put us so far back in the parade that someone again offered to have him ride in their float. He kicked and screamed so they said I could get in too. So I did. He fought it a little bit but then was happy. I totally know how that can be. I could see Cambree doing that same thing. Can't you?
So AFTER the parade, we hung out at the carnival. The girls mostly wanted their faces painted. So stood in the LONG line for probably 45 minutes so they could do some of the other booths. Why do they want to paint their faces when we just have to wash it off 2 hours later! But I guess they do look cute even though the pioneer dress and tiger face just don't mesh well.
Sadie didn't have her 2nd nap, so the evening went a little like this:
Hope you had a great 24th!

Davis Family Reunion

This reunion was not just my brother and sisters, but the whole Davis side...cousins and all! There were probably about 90 of us. My Aunt Marilyn headed up the whole thing and found a GREAT place to accommodate all of us in Island Park Idaho. Right close to Yellowstone. Each family got a cabin(s). Ours fit all 14 of us...we all got beds, even the kids! It was nicer than my house.
The first day was basically a travel day. We all got there around dinner time. My aunt's family was in charge of dinner and we all had yummy fajitas while visiting and getting reacquainted. Then, we went back to the cabin and got the kids to bed at a decent hour, then the adults stayed up too late (every night) playing games.

The next day was off to a bad start. Brinley threw-up right before we were heading out to Yellowstone. She said she felt better so we figured maybe she just needed to get something out of her system. Nope. She threw-up in the car, so we turned around and went back to the cabin. Shawn said he'd stay home (as long as we saw the geysers the next day. That's all he wanted to see) with her and he kept Sadie too, which was very nice. So it was just me, Cambree, and Tiff (my sister) in our car trying to catch-up to my parents and sister's family in Yellowstone. We waited for 45 minutes to get into Yellowstone, but eventually found them 6 hours later at Yellowstone Falls. We were able to see PLENTY of buffalo and elk all along the way too.

This is what you get when you have someone else (Mandy!) take your picture with your fancy camera. And that is why I never have pictures of myself!
We made a big loop and saw Mammoth Rock. The last time I was in Yellowstone (probably 15 years ago) that was my favorite. It was pretty cool. We also enjoyed seeing dozens of elk lounging on the grass.
Needless to say, we made it back to dinner about 2 hours late. We drove SO MUCH that day! After dinner, we were going to do a program or something but we got rained out. So I planned to play games with some of our cousins after we got the kids to bed. My mom was nice enough to stay with the kids. It was fun hanging out with my cousins. We just don't see them enough!
Saturday, we a little crazy in the morning. Sadie threw-up in the night. I figured my mom would be happy to stay back at the cabin with her...but when my mom woke up, she could barely walk! Her toe was KILLING her. So, we both ended up staying behind while everyone else went to see Old Faithful and some other geysers. I threatened Shawn (and my sisters) to take LOTS of pictures! But I still don't see one of Old Faithful, just video. Oh well. So while I slept (2 hours!!) Shawn took Brinley and Cambree (which I'm very glad Brinley was feeling better) to see more at Yellowstone.
Here's what they saw:
A bubbling geyser.
This geyser was spewing water all the time and you could get wet from it.
Aren't they the cutest? I wish they always looked like this.
They even made it back by 3:00. My mom was stressing about the meal we'd have to feed everyone and wanted them back at that time. She was a doubter though! Her toe was almost back to normal after meds and ice and we got our tacos served to everyone on time. Everyone ate and then we had to fit a big family picture and program and hope that it wouldn't rain that night.
We started off with a song to the tune of "Scripture Power" that my aunt made up. We made up the verses. Then my aunt had this idea to make a human family tree. My cousin's husband took the picture from on top of the swing set. I was more worried for the camera than him. ;)

The makings of a tree:
Tiff's leaf on her tree:
My Grandpa passed away so my aunt had a blanket made of him. My Grandma looks cute sitting next to him again.
I did all the individual family pictures. No way was I climbing up on a swing set! Not even for a picture! And my sister, Tiffany, designed the t-shirts. Pretty cute!
The night ended with marshmellow wars for the kids while the girls went to a baby shower for my cousin, Darci. She's having a girl! Which is actually amazing for this family. Most of the great-grandkids are boys. I'm talking like 40 boys and 10 girls. Yes, I'm the winner for the most girls in one family.
Sunday, we went to Sacrament Meeting which was interesting. They get so many visitors in the summer that they have their church they meet in and also a building where they show the meeting on a screen. And with all those visitors, we saw some people we know. Shawn's cousin and family of some friends of ours. Small world.
And lastly, as soon as we got home, we went over to the hospital to see my brother's new baby (yeah, they didn't go to the reunion). She was born on Saturday. They named her Annie Nicole. What a sweetie.
Proud Mommy.
Wow! This turned out to be a LONG post! But it is filled with goodness! Family and a new baby...what could be better than that?
