One Month Old Birthday!

Don't worry...I most likely won't be documenting every month of her first year, but this one is important! Sadie is one month old! Man! That was a blur too! The sad thing is, I haven't been very good at taking pictures or very good ones at that! She likes to be held ALL the time, so I just don't get very many chances to put her down and when I do, I have to get other stuff done! My other kids weren't like that!
-Still no smiles (on purpose) but I think she's getting close!
-She now usually sleeps until about 6 am. Still too early for me, but at least she sleeps through the night!
-She's filling out! It seemed like over 2 days her cheeks got bigger and she looked different. She was weighed again and was 9 lbs. 13 oz. so she gained a pound and a 1/2 in two weeks! She's doing good!
-Not really breastfeeding anymore. I say not really because I'm just pumping b/c it's faster than feeding her (yeah, she's super slow) and I still want her to get the good antibodies from me since it's flu season. We'll see how much longer this lasts. Thanks you all for telling me about those milk pills and I've heard that they work, but I still didn't try them. I'm really not a determined person I've decided. My sister wanted to see a picture of her without a bow. Here she is! She's cute but so much cuter with a bow!Her first time to church even if it was only Sacrament Meeting. She did good and loved looking at the lights. Dang! She's cute!

Look Who Learned How to Ride Her Bike!!

Yup! She FINALLY learned how (about 2 weeks ago)! We were quite surprised, actually! I told her she needed to learn by the end of summer and then school started and she still didn't know how. I was prego or just had the baby so I didn't really help her and Shawn pulled his hamstring playing flag football, so he wasn't helping her either. We were outside and all of the sudden she just started riding her bike without training wheels! Too cool!! Now she just needs a bigger bike! These kids grow up so fast!

Sadie's 1st Photo Shoot!

Here are the long-awaited pictures! (More like I'm the one that's been waiting to get a little time to get them done!) I was excited to try out my new portable bamboo floor and the baby cocoon I just recently purchased. Love them! There are some more on my photo blog too...so check that out!
It's so fun to experiment on my own little one. And, thanks, Nicole for helping me! You were wonderful to move furniture and do whatever I asked! You're the best!
I'm so in love with her!

The First Two Weeks

I can't believe it's already been 2 weeks since Sadie was born. The first week was definitely a blur, but I've come out of it now. My mom was here for about a week and a 1/2 so that was REALLY great! I have a super-clean house too! But now I'm on my own so we'll see how I do!
As for Sadie, she's just the sweetest thing! And she's sure spoiled us! She sleeps anywhere from 5-7 hours during the night. And takes a nice, long nap in the afternoon. So, I've been able to get a nap in and pretty good night's sleep. I was a little worried about her sleeping so much that she wasn't getting enough to eat, but I just took her to her 2-week appointment and she's back up to her birth weight (the first of my kids to ever do that!) and the doc said to not worry and that I'm lucky she sleeps through the night. Whew!
As far as her feeding goes, she's been great but I still don't seem to produce enough milk for her needs. So, I'm again, doing both...nursing and formula. Darn! I really wanted it to work out this time. I'm thinking I might try those "More Milk" drops or something to help me produce more milk. Has anyone tried this? Sorry to get so personal, but I seem to not be doing something right!
-She also had her first bath...I'll admit that I've forgotton how to do it! So it was nice when my mom came and showed me how again! And I'm just loving how much hair she has and how curly it is!! These pictures just don't show it.-We went to the Sprinkler Park for Labor Day. I figured that was a safe enough place and we could keep Sadie away from people. She slept through the whole outing!-She's now watched 2 BYU games. The first one we had friends over and I took her newborn pictures (the post is soon to come!). Thanks, Nicole, for helping me!! Today was much more laid-back and she spent most of the day with Shawn watching it and sleeping...while I went shopping. It was nice getting out of the house for a few hours! The girls absolutely adore her! Cambree has been wonderful and such a big help! I really didn't think she had it in her. ;) Brinley, too, is so cute and helps out alot. It sure is nice having them spaced out like this!

She's Here!!

Introducing...
Sadie Noelle
Born on August 28, 2009
8 lbs 3 oz
21 inches
AND she has HAIR!!! None of my babies had hair and it's curly! She's so cute!
It was pretty nice going into the hospital at 10 am instead of 6 am like the past c-sections I've had. I actually got a good night's sleep and showered and ready!
The c-section went really well. I got nauseous for a minute and the anesthesiologist were all over that and had me back to feeling good in a few seconds. I can't complain! I did have a lot of amniotic fluid (I'm guessing that's why I was measuring so big cuz she really wasn't a huge baby) and Sadie got a lot in her lungs. They suctioned her out in the OR and Shawn carried her to the Nursery.
Once in the Nursery, they cleaned her up and tried to get her to cry a little more because she was looking bluish. She wouldn't cry. So they gave her oxygen and hooked her up to a monitor to monitor her oxygen levels. I didn't get to see her until around 4 pm that day. They brought her in to nurse. I was SO happy! Luckily, Brinley and Cambree and some family was there at that time so they could see her too. Because they had to take her back to the Nursery shortly after. So, I got up every few hours all night to go to the Nursery to nurse her. I think all that getting up and walking helped speed up my recovery. I feel good and all my pain pills are gone! So I'd better be good!
Sadie had another episode the next morning, so we had to wait another 24 hours before we could take her in our room. It seemed like I was just stuck in a hospital with no baby. I can't imagine how others feel when they can't bring their baby home.
We were so grateful when they brought her to us Sunday morning to be able to hold her for however long we wanted and have her there. She's been just fine ever since and hasn't given us any kind of scare. We're so grateful.
