Baby's Heartbeat!

I'm 12 weeks along and it's time to go to the doctor! I wasn't scheduled to go into the doctor until next week. I still wasn't 100% sure about that doctor anyway. Shawn talked to an old co-worker to see what doc his wife used and she had c-sections and LOVED him (and actually had a crush on him too). So I thought I'd see if he was full...he wasn't! And they got me in the next day! So yesterday was a little crazy! With Kindergarten, no time is a good time...but I got someone to take Brinley before school and to school and took Cambree to my MIL's. Then, I picked up Shawn from work (cuz the clinic is on the U campus) and he got to come with me! It was really great! The PA was great and so was the doctor. So I think I'm really going to have a good experience. And, yes, we got to hear the baby's heartbeat! Even though it's my 3rd time around, there's nothing like hearing that heartbeat and everything becomes more real.
Just a funny cartoon...cuz I didn't take any pics at my appointment! How dare I?! After my appointment, I made it back just in time for Brinley to be home from Kindergarten. Whew! That really took up my day!
Later that evening, I took off to Tooele for my monthly Book Club meeting! I sure was tired of driving all day, but I really wanted to go to Book Club since I missed it last month. It was a small group, but it was fun! And REALLY YUMMY TREATS! We also picked out books for the whole next year. It's going to be great! I just love being able to getaway and chill with my book club girlies!

Draper Temple Open House

Tuesday night we finally got to go to the Draper Temple Open House and see what everyone's been bloggin' about. It was gorgeous!! I think this is the first temple I've got to go in before it was dedicated since I've been through. So I knew more of what to expect and what things meant.
We took both the girls. We were VERY hesitant to bring Cambree since we heard that some lines were long and didn't know if she could handle it. We had to wait a 1/2 hour at the church before the movie...she was pretty much at the end and I was out of ideas! During the movie both girls asked a million questions and then we boarded the bus! Of course, that was a highlight for them! (I LOVED the upholstery!)

Once inside, they did really well with walking and whispering. They would ask which room they were in every time we went into a new one. I thought Cambree was going to take a dive into the baptismal font (& and so did the volunteer!)! There was a wonderful spirit and peace inside. It's always such a sanctuary from the outside world. Inside a sealing room, a couple talked about temple marriages and how special they are. Despite the lady turning most of her attention to my girls, Cambree still had a hard time sitting still in there.Afterward, we went through more "tunnels" to a church where they had wonderful displays and cookies and water. It was really nice. On the ride back to our car, I asked Brinley what her favorite part was and she said the tunnels. I was really hoping for more from her since she's older and we've been talking about temples and she's been wanting to go inside...but I guess that's what 5 year olds think is the coolest!Eatin' the yummy cookies!
-Oh! And I just finished editing 2 photo shoots from last weekend. They're from my BFF! So check them out on my photo blog! Thanks! :)

Happy {Heart} Day!!

(I think I need to get my teeth whitened...didn't really notice it until now.)
Last week was a fun week...especially for the girls. Cambree went to playgroup and had a Valentine's party. They made cookies and exchanged Valentines. She was so happy!Brinley got to do the whole thing at school! I remember when I was in Elem school, I LOVED Valentine's Day! I think I liked it even more than the Christmas party! I loved giving my Valentines away and seeing what the Valentine that my crush gave me said...which I'm sure he didn't even give a second thought if the conversation heart said, "Kiss me". But I then knew he liked me too! So funny! Anyway, Brinley had a great time and isn't her bag the CUTEST?!!! Unfortunately, Cambree ripped it as soon as Brinley got home, but we taped it back together.
Brinley was so sweet all week making me and Shawn little Valentines. I love it!Friday we did our Valentine's date. Shawn's mom watched the kids. Shawn was even able to get off a little early. Shawn bought me chocolate covered nuts (my fav!) and said I could buy myself some perfume that I need desperately (I'm sure he didn't dare pick some out for me!)
We went miniature golfing, dinner, and a movie. I just love going miniature golfing! I usually win too! But I definitely wasn't feelin' it until we were pretty much done! So Shawn did win...but he was a very good sport at letting me cheat a lot. I think it shouldn't count if on the first swing the door to let your ball go in closes before your ball gets there and just comes right back to you...it just doesn't count as a swing as far as I'm concerned!
It was so nice to go out and do something fun with just Shawn. It seems like it's been awhile...and that's why I love Valentine's Day! It gives us the excuse to go out!Since this weekend was a 3-day weekend for Shawn, I was determined to get Cambree potty-trained AGAIN. So that's why our date was on Friday...so we could spend the next 3 days at Potty Training Boot Camp. I told Shawn it was his turn to do most of it since I already potty-trained her and I'm D-O-N-E! I just can't do it. Ugh. So he was REALLY great and tried his darnedest! She had 1 accident a day, but I think that's pretty good. We still have her on a timer, cuz she just doesn't do it on her own...I hope that will come soon!

ALL the Details...

...ok, not ALL the details! ;) But I was happy to get comments from so many of you! (and congrats to Teresa! What a great surprise to find out on my blog!) Thanks for all your congratulatories and thanks to those of you that already knew but kept quiet. I had no idea you guys knew!
I haven't been to the doc yet...it took a while to find one. I have to switch doctors which I'm really sad about and I had to find one that delivers at the University Hospital. I hardly know anyone that's delivered there. So when I finally picked a doctor, he was booked up for a few weeks. I'm still not set on him, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know!
So, according to the internet, the baby's due September 5th. I have c-sections so it'll probably be a week earlier than that...yup! HELLO HOT summer!! I'm 10 weeks along. I've kept it a secret as long as possible for me! But, yeah, our families knew pretty much a week after I knew. I just had to tell them that fun way!
Baby Names - BabyNamey.com Name Badge TickerSo this explains why I'm not blogging as much...or I feel like I'm not blogging as much. I don't get sick (just slight nauseousness...but I can still function), I'm just really tired. Nothing too exciting! But I have gained 10 pounds already!! I'm always hungry! I don't remember being so hungry all the time with the girls!! So, maybe/hopefully it's a boy!
So that's the 411! It's pretty exciting! The girls, well Brinley (Cambree still thinks she's going to go back into my tummy), are excited. Sometimes Brinley quietly asks me if whoever I'm talking to knows I'm going to have a baby...so it's a little awkward and I feel like I have to tell them what she said...she's only done that twice so only a few people in my ward know. But she's really cute about it. I hope she'll be a good helper when the baby comes.

Now for the Surprise!

So I guess no one read my blog post back at the first of January (probably cuz it was too long) about a possible surprise in a gift I wrapped up when my family & Shawn's family got together for Christmas and New Year's. I told people to guess and either they didn't get that far in the post or they didn't have any guesses!!
So, here's the video with how it all went down! (I only included the video of my family cuz they gave a better reaction than Shawn's family.) You can skip forward to 4:15...that's where it gets good! And let me know if you STILL don't have any guesses (cuz the video isn't crystal-clear!)!

Visiting Old Friends

This week has been a good one.
On Tuesday, Cambree was invited to a Princess birthday party out in T-town (thanks, Heidi!). So I made arrangements for Brinley to go somewhere after Kindergarten and so I was able to go out there. I was glad I did! Cambree got to play with old friends and I spent my time going from house-to-house visiting friends. It was really great! I sure miss you guys!
All week we've been trying to disinfect Brinley's finger. She ripped off some skin (like a hang-nail) and it got infected. Luckily, Shawn's bro is a PA and called in some antibiotics...it's doing much better now! (Yeah, the only pic I have all week is this gross one...I really need to be better!)
Friday, we checked out the old dollar theater and took the kids to Madagascar 2...the girls had so much fun!
Saturday, we went up to Tremonton to visit a High School friend of mine that had a baby back in December. It was so good to see her. We don't get up there much so we only see each other every other year, if we're lucky. Our kids are the same ages and they get along great (when they actually play together) and our husbands do too! So it was a fun visit...so fun to catch-up.
I just love re-connecting with friends...I've sure made some good ones.
And now I'm listening to Shawn "putting the girls to bed"...while they're all laughing and giggling. I love my family!

Weekend Wrap-up!

I feel like this is all I ever get to blog about anymore...kinda boring, but oh well! It's my journal! Last weekend was eventful as usual!
Friday night, we had all of Shawn's brother & sisters (that live in the area..so that was 2 brothers and one sister and their spouses) over for dinner and games. One of his brothers hadn't seen our place yet. The girls were so good and watched about 1 and 1/2 movies downstairs and only briefly came up between movies. They were so good! We'll have to do it again!
We had a yummy dinner and then played Song Burst 70's &80's version (yes! I scored it at D.I.!) and a new game called Quelf that Jody brought. Yeah...it has quite the name! It's a mix between Cranium and Curses. My kind of game! It was so fun!The next morning we took the kids and headed to Park City to listen to a timeshare shpeal to get $100. They even had free babysitting for the kids. It really seemed like a great timeshare but we are in no position to buy one. We spent the rest of the afternoon eating out and shopping at the outlet stores...pretty much spending all that $100 bucks!! So it actually turned out to be a pretty fun day!
And I'm finally all caught up editing photo shoots!! That's quite an accomplishment! (Go to my photo blog to check out the Senior shoot I did and a Family Shoot!) I get to relax the rest of the week!!! yeah, right...I need to work on my website...I know! It's still not up!! But it's close! So close!!
