Give Me Some LOVE!

So I try to post most of my photo shoots on my photo blog, but people don't seem to like to go there or just don't like to comment. Should I still post them here? Should I give you a head's up on here when I do a new shoot? I just wanted to see if anyone actually checked without persuasion...and yes I did drop some subtle hints, but I guess it wasn't enough so now I'm dedicating a blog post just for my poor photo blog! I know! I'm lame! For soliciting help for my photo blog! Please check it out and comment! It's not hard! Even if you have to lie!

Twilight!

Of course I'm gonna post about this! (It just took me awhile cuz I was napping all day Friday and then we went to a friend's house the rest of the night!) And I'm happy to see that a lot of you are crazy like me and went to a midnight showing also! So my day was a little crazy. I had to work out things with my kids since I was going to Tooele to watch it with my book club girlies. After Brinley got out of Kindergarten, we took off. My mom watched the girls while I went to do a Christmas mini photo shoot of Heidi's kids. (Poor Sam was sick, sick, sick!! But Heidi still wanted them done anyway! I couldn't get him to smile for the life of me! oh well. But aren't her girls' dresses DARLING?!!! I'll post more later on my photo blog, cuz it needs some LOVE.)
Then, I came back for a few hours and THEN went to book club (after I got the girls bathed and to bed)! I was really glad we did Twilight and book club all in one night. This month the book was Glass Castle. The book was really great and made me appreciate my own parents and my upbringing. Everything I take for granted she didn't have growing up. And her whole attitude about it all was so forgiving. So, of course, we had a great discussion about this book. And Jenn did an awesome job of hosting our 1st Anniversary book club meeting!! It was great!
So, after book club, we stopped at Wendy's for a bite to eat when we get a call from Jenn wondering where we are. The theater was packed!! When did they start seating people?!!! We were ticked!! So we rushed over and got 2-4th row to the front. Not so good. But, Edward was breathing down our necks the whole time! ;) So, Twilight. It got mixed reviews from the critics but I REALLY liked it!! I thought I wouldn't like Edward, but he really fit the part great. There was one part where it jumped ahead a little or was a little wierd but they had to fit a lot into the movie. It was also just fun to watch it with all the crazies where everyone would cheer when Edward and Jacob came up on the screen for the first time. Emmett was really hot and Jasper was a little creepy. I liked Bella but some of my friends didn't. I want Shawn to take me again and see what he thinks! He's been skeptical from the beginning (but has read all the books!)!

My Sanity is Going to Be Gone!

(Again, not my kid(s)...and it's a dang good thing I don't have twins that are climbing out!)

So Cambree has figured out how to crawl out of her crib (thanks to my nephew showing her) as of yesterday! I'm SO sad/mad!! I was hoping just MAYBE she might have forgotten that she could do that, but nope! This morning she came into my room (earlier than normal too!) all dressed just needing help putting on her shirt! What a stinker! I KNOW I've been spoiled and whenever she's tried to climb I'd tell her she'd fall and get a big owie. And she believed me, until now! My SIL suggested something Barbara did when her kids would climb out...she would tie pantyhose to the kid's ankle and to the crib slat just short enough that they couldn't get their leg over the edge. Lynnette said when she tried that, the nylon got too tight and her son's foot was turning blue!! I don't think I'll be doing that!!
The reason my sanity will be gone is because I live for nap time!! And I'm about 98% sure she won't be taking any naps now that she can climb out! That was ME time to do blogging, photo editing, reading, etc. I'm so sad! So, I guess it's movie-time! Or does anyone have any suggestions? When Brinley was starting not to take naps and not in a crib, we'd lock her in her room. She didn't have toys in her room, but there was many-a-time the sheets on the bed (a big double bed!) would be all over and the mattress off the box springs so she could make a slide. Sometimes she'd leave me a surprise of poop on the floor! Oh the joys!! You see why I'm nervous and about to go insane?!!!
*Oh! On a better note, we also got rid of her binkie when we moved here! Yea! It wasn't as bad as Brinley when we took her's away....whew! Brinley was so easy until we took her binkie away and then she was wild child, but Cambree has pretty much stayed the same...so that's good! I guess it was time!

Moving, Moving, Moved!!

It's about time I get all caught up on what's been going on lately!! Yes! We're all moved in!! We had quite the day last Saturday when we moved in! We moved all our boxes throughout the week, so we only had the big stuff to move. We loaded everything Friday night, Shawn & I came to the house to do some last-minute stuff, and to be there in the morning to unload. 10 Elders from the Elders Quorum came at 9 am! We had everything unloaded in 45 minutes! Just enough time to return the U-Haul and go to the BYU game. Yup! That's what I said!! Katie had tickets for us and Shawn was NOT going to miss the game because of a silly thing like moving!! (I know! I'm the nicest wife ever! ;) ) So, we made it just after kickoff (Barbara was watching the kids all day and brought them by later). After the game, we stopped and did some much-needed grocery shopping and then went to the Stake Roadshow! I know! I didn't think they even did those anymore!! We're already getting involved and we haven't even been to church yet! But I thought it would be fun for the girls and we're in the same stake as Shawn's sister so we watched them perform. Some of them were lame but some were really good (like our ward's!). Needless to say, we didn't do much unpacking that day. Sunday was great with everyone super excited that we moved in. Apparently, everyone knows who we are and have been talking about us for weeks. Shawn was even already assigned his Home Teaching Companion and they set up a time to go this Sunday! WAY crazy! We're just so impressed with the welcome we've gotten here! We are so excited to be here and feel like it's where we're supposed to be.
Throughout the week, Brinley got a cold, then Cambree got it and it turned into croup. Luckily, we already knew the pediatrician we wanted since we just kept the same one we had when we lived here before. Cambree had a well-child checkup the day before (she's in the 90th percentile, of course!) and we were back the next day to see the doc for wheezing. Yeah. I wish the doctor would've at least checked her out when we were there! They seem to be really against that! At least Cambree wasn't able to scream and be naughty...she just watched TV all day but it is sad to see her so miserable! (And this picture IS NOT Cambree!! Did you think I would be THAT on top of things to actually get pictures taken this week? I don't think so!!)
Saturday, our friends came to help us paint the stairwell (we didn't want a fresh paint BEFORE they jammed the couches down into the basement!) And don't go thinking I'm asking for all this help! They offered since they couldn't help at my painting party! And, well, we dropped the bomb and didn't have enough paint to even get it done 1/2 way! Anyway, they had to leave and do some things and we picked up more paint and finished it. All while listening to the BYU game...which they won! Yea!
That night, we decided we could RELAX!!! So we watched Juno (which I, surprisingly liked) and then I took a nice, hot bath in my BIG tub!! It was SO nice!
Sunday, church was great again. The girls are adjusting really well and making friends. We went on a walk after church since it was such a nice day and saw 4 deer amidst all the houses on the walking path!! It was so cool but a little scary...do deer hurt people? Does a buck hurt people generally?
And now, we're officially moved in I'd say!! We had our first guests over even if it was last-minute! My forever friend, Nicole, wanted to come by and see our place and they were already out and about. So we just had them over for a crockpot dinner. I was even able to use my China since it's not in boxes!! It's so nice to be able to spread out and have places to put things! We talked and talked and Shawn and Jeff talked and talked! And the girls played and played. It was a great start to our official move in!
I've even got everything out of boxes (that will probably stay out of boxes, that is) and just need to decorate. So pictures will be coming soon!!
*Oh! And I STILL can't find our cell phone charger!! I just can't believe it! I guess I'll have to buy a new one!!

This is So Sad to me!!

No matter what you're belief, this is uncalled for!

From Family Leader Publication (whatever that is! I just got this in my email!)

Prop 8 Protesters Target the LDS Los Angeles Temple
The LDS Temple in Los Angeles was under siege yesterday by 2,000 protesters angry over the Church's role in passing Proposition 8, forcing the temporary closure of the temple. According to reports, a gay activist called the temple saying they would be protesting outside the temple permanently until there is gay marriage.
Signs were hung from the fence around the temple and protesters screamed in anger, snarled afternoon rush-hour traffic and said, "This isn't going to stop us...If we do this we have a chance." "We're going to fight it until the world changes," protesters claimed.
"Shame on you," chanted the protesters. Outside the temple, grafitti was scrawled on the walls and signs hung, "Go back to Utah," and "Go to hell Mormons." Their signs said, "No on H8."
Protesters promised to go after the Church's tax-exempt status and harass Mormons who had donated to the cause, listed on a website Mormonsfor8.com. The promise was to make the Mormons pay for their role in the passage of Prop 8.
One LDS member in the area said, "I don't quite understand our police response (even though I'm one of the police). If this was happening at a Jewish synagogue or a Catholic church, we would be arresting people for hate crimes. As it is at the moment, protestors are sitting on the walls of the temple and the police are on the grounds inside. Church members in our area were called last night to come down to the stake center and spend the night protecting the building from vandalism -- it's like 150 years ago."
This was the politics of intimidation and harassment, targeting the LDS church, though many other churches had helped in the effort-and a sample of how the homosexual agenda has spread across the nation. It was like San Francisco mayor, Gavin Newsome, said when he illegally started marrying couples in the city before that America was going to have this whether you like it or not.
It will not be about people being able to vote their conscience, or calmly assess the issues and consequences, but about threats and vilification.
Other churches who participated in the effort have not been similarly targeted.
The LDS Church is, of course, in no danger of losing its tax-exempt status. The only donation made to the campaign according to records was $2,078.97, an expense which covered the travel of church leaders who went to California to meet with the coalition. The Church insists that by law it has the right to speak out on moral issues.

Threats from Blogs Target Christians. A Worldnetdaily.com article noted that homosexual blogs have been boiling with threats toward Christians. Burn their [blank] churches to the ground, and then tax the charred timbers," wrote "World O Jeff" on a blog. On another website "Tread" wrote, "I hope the No on 8 people have a long list and long knives." On another website, a contributor wrote, "Can someone in CA please go burn down the Mormon temples there, PLEASE. I mean seriously. DO IT."
On another website "scottinsf" wrote, "Trust me. I've got a big list of names of mormons and catholics that were big supporters of Prop 8. ... As far as mormons and catholics ... I warn them to watch their backs."
Another blog entry: "If you're planning a heterosexual wedding in California ... be prepared for picketers. Designate someone to watch the parking lot ... You're going to have lots of unexpected expenses. Add $500 to your budget for security. ... Be prepared for the flowers not lasting to the reception or the tuxedos showing up two sizes too small or the music at the reception being a way too loud or the cake tasting a little funny," stated another threat. "Be afraid. Be very afraid. We are everywhere."
Thus it continues on and on and Matt Barber, director of cultural affairs for Liberty Counsel called the statements "hate crimes" for their intent to create violence against someone based on their beliefs and called on the Human Rights Campaign, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and "other leaders within the homosexual lobby" to call for an end to such threats.
Thus, the true colors of some of those who push this agenda are in clear display. It is a kind of domestic terrorism designed to silence and quell anyone who oppose this agenda as it marches through our nation.
On the same day, this happened, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, issued a statement calling for mutual civility. "No one on any side of the question should be vilified, intimidated or harassed." It is a call to turn the other cheek.

Lawsuits against Prop 8
At least three lawsuits have been or are in the process of being filed protesting the passage of Proposition 8.
Andy Pugno, attorney for the Protect Marriage coalition said, "The lawsuit filed today by the ACLU and Equality California seeking to invalidate the decision of California voters to enshrine traditional marriage in California's constitution is frivolous and regrettable. These same groups filed an identical case with the California Supreme Court months ago, which was summarily dismissed. We will vigorously defend the People's decision to enact Proposition 8 . . .
"It should also be noted that the ACLU recently made this same "constitutional revision" claim in a nearly identical matter in Oregon and it was unanimously rejected."
Family Leader's attorneys agree with this estimation.

Things We're Going to Remember While Living with Grandma

Well, I've done a lot of complaining while living here, but I really will miss some things.
*I, for one, will REALLY miss going on dates and always having a babysitter or running out to the store at night with just me and Shawn!
*Sleeping in a little longer than normal since Barbara is always up to get them breakfast...I know!! I'm SO lazy and nothing seems to bother her. She LOVES to help or that's what Shawn keeps assuring me of!
*Scrapbooking every Thursday has also been a real treat!
*Making meals and doing dishes every other day is REALLY nice too!
*And only having the basement to keep clean is nice...oh boy! Will I have it comin' to me when we move!
*Having a little freedom with schedules like Barbara will take or pick Brinley up from the bus stop if I'm gone. Kindergarten is SO hard!! It's hard to go anywhere far since it's in the middle of the day with either picking up or dropping off!

Here are some things the girls love doing here and accomplished...there has been some big milestones!

*Cambree just LOVED doing puzzles!! And Grandma keeps buying her more!! She's gotten really good at them!
*Brinley just LOVES wearing headbands! I'm sure this will still continue when we move into our new house!
*Grandma's dress ups!! Cambree was always coming up with some interesting concoction, like a Cowboy Princess. Everything was some kind of princess!
*Cambree also got potty trained here!! Yea!! BTW, she now poops in the toilet and isn't scared anymore!! Sure, there still are some accidents but we are almost there!! So exciting!! And I'm not a stress case anymore!
*Riding the scooter and trike all around the house!! I kid you not! All the time! All over! And they chase each other! (This is Cambree's getup when trying to attempt to ride with high-heeled shoes!)
*I really should have a picture of them taking ALL the couch cushions off (all 8 couches...ours are included!) and making huts...but this BAD, BLURRY picture will just have to do! Brinley was reading to Cambree under the blankets...and that's another thing....
*Brinley has learned to READ while we've lived here!! That's so crazy!
*Trying new hairstyles! (Brinley added the Butterfly barrette)

*Brinley entered the Reflections Contest. (The first one ever for me or my kids! AND we went to our first Parent Teacher Conference yesterday! I just can't believe I have a kid this old!!) The theme was WOW so she did a REALLY big drawing on poster board. It's a castle and a princess of course (with those stamp-like stickers my in-laws get LOADS of in the mail!)
*And the girls LOVE it when the cousins come over to play!! They get to see them way more often since we live at Grandma's!

NOW, we're excited to move and take on ALL the responsibilities of owning a real house!! We think!! :)

My Hectic Day!

So this all happened last week, but I wanted to post about the day I had anyway...it was a good, but BUSY day!!
Doesn't it seem like all your plans fall on one day? Mine do a lot, it seems!! So it was Thursday, scrapbook with my aunts day, but it was at my mom's house...so I had to decide if I wanted to go and juggle the girls...well, I didn't go cuz Shawn wanted to work on the house that day, one of the only days he's taking off this week. So I went with him and took Cambree. She didn't do so well...she wanted to "help" the whole time! It was kinda annoying. We had toys there but they didn't entertain for long. After not getting too much done, I had to leave early to go back, take a shower, put Cambree down for her nap, and go to Tooele to do a photo shoot of Melanie's family. Can I just say how cute are her kids??? I was really exited to do them and especially boys since I don't get a chance to do very many. It was fun seeing her again, but poor Chase, who's Brinley's age, thought he was going to see Brinley. He wasn't having anything to do with pictures. I felt bad for the little guy! He sure misses her I guess! So FINALLY, he was happy and we got GREAT pictures! Whew!
So, here is a little preview, Melanie, of your pictures! (I'm feeling bad that I'm taking a while to do them!) I did lots of Sepia so far cuz that's what you said you wanted but don't worry! They aren't all like that! More will come later!! Don't you just love her baby girl's hair?!! SO CUTE!!

Then, my dinner I thought was going to be at my mom's, but they had a bishopbric dinner so I just went over there. It was fun seeing some friends from my old ward there. Then, I had to leave early to go to Book Club! We went to Lori's to "discuss" "Devil in the White City". We always talk more about other stuff than we do about the book! The book was good but not my fav. It's all about murder in Chicago at the World's Fair. I didn't even know there was a World's Fair in Chicago so that was interesting to read about. But, yes, we had a great time and I stayed WAY too late cuz I had to come all the way back home that night!! I was pooped!
Whew!

Painting Party was a....

.... SUCCESS!! Yes it was!!! A HUGE THANK YOU to all that came to help! I was SO overwhelmed with what had to be done, and guess what? It all got done!! Every room I wanted painted got it, some with even 3 coats of paint! AND Brinley's room with pain-in-the-rear stripes!! So, thanks to ALL our friends and family! I'm SO excited to move into a clean and painted home and not have to worry about it AFTER we move in!! And you'll all be invited to the Christmas Party I hope to have in a month or so!
-Sorry no pics! I can't believe I forgot my camera!! But stay tuned for before and after pics! And Jenn, I don't know where you come up with such cool pictures for your blog...this one is TOTALLY lame!!
